14 SCRIPTURES FOR DEALING WITH ANGER IN MARRIAGE

Anger is a series of emotions, progressively moving from one unpleasant emotion to another. Anger can be a mixture of stress, failed expectations, disappointment, anxiety, and worry. Anger can be positive and can also be negative.

People can use anger to cause a positive movement in society. If you want a change in society, you can become angry at the level of poor education, poor way of living and choose to create a change through your contributions to the world.

However, there is another level of anger that destroys, causes chaos, and confusion in the life of the person who is struggling with it and those that are around them.

Some people have a mild temper while some have a high temper. The Bible says that we can get angry but not sin. And that we should not allow the day to go by without resolving the cause of our anger. Eph 4:26.

In your marriage, you might find out that you\’re always getting angry with your spouse. You\’re quick to get offended. You always get irritated by things. But the truth is, you cannot afford to always get angry with the same person that God has called you to be one with. It is like getting angry with yourself, being mad at yourself.

Rather, you should allow God to work in you, give you the fruit of the Spirit so that you can have self-control and gentleness and long-suffering; and also be able to handle the things that happen in your marriage without necessarily getting so angry with your spouse.

This is because anger can lead to violence or doing things that you\’re not supposed to do. It can cause you to become abusive, emotionally, verbally, or physically. It can become the door the enemy uses to releases curses and negativity into your marriage when you are triggered.

So anger is one of those weaknesses that you\’d want to work on so that it doesn\’t consume your marriage.
