Going through a difficult time in your marriage can be emotional and challenging. But it’s important to remember that solace can be found in any situation.

You need to be careful not to drown yourself in guilt and blame. The regret of your decision or how your partner is behaving can make you manage issues the wrong way but you need to rise up beyond that so that you don’t crumble.

Here are five truths that can help guide you through this tough season with compassion and a sense of hope:

1. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡

No matter what difficulties you’re facing, you are deserving of love, respect, and happiness, and your worth is not defined by the state of your marriage. Be kind to yourself and avoid comparing yourself to others or the ‘perfect’ image of a spouse.

 2. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝

Whether you find solace in prayer, scripture, or simply the feeling of a divine presence, know that God’s love for you is unchanging and unconditional. You are never alone or forgotten but always held in the embrace of divine love.

3. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬

Even if the path ahead seems uncertain or progress feels slow, recognise that you are constantly growing and evolving. Each small step forward, whether in your personal development or your relationship, is a testament to your strength and resilience.

4. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞

Although the present situation may feel overwhelming, have faith that this too shall pass. With patience, perseverance, and the support of your loved ones, you will eventually find a way through the challenges and emerge stronger and more resilient.

5. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲; 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥

Your journey, with all its ups and downs, is a powerful testament to your strength and resilience. Regardless of the outcome of your current situation, your life is a story that can inspire and encourage others. You will emerge from this season with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.

Remember to reach out to trusted friends, family, or a professional counsellor for support and guidance as you navigate this challenging time in your marriage.
